Genoa have rejected West Ham United’s initial bid in signing Diego Laxalt, according to TuttoMercatoWeb
The Premier League outfit wanted to sign the Uruguayan international and tabled a €12 million bid for the player. The Serie A oufit turned down the approach from the English capital club as it is way below their valuation.
It was the same website who reported on Tuesday about the interest from Manuel Pellegerini’s side in signing Laxalt. They also mentioned that Genoa will only consider selling the 25-year-old, if potential suitors can meet their asking price. However, there was no mention of how much they wanted.
The latest report from Tutto Mercato Web claims Genoa have slapped a price tag of €18 million on Laxalt. Thus, West Ham’s first bid of €12 million was turned down.
TMW also claims the Italian club and Pellegrini’s side are still negotiating to see if a deal can be reached for the South American in the summer transfer window. Laxalt’s contract with his current employers run down in 2022.
