The Brazilian media today brings a little more information regarding West Ham United’s chase for Flamengo forward Lazaro.
It was on Saturday that Globo Esporte first reported the Hammers’ initial £5m bid for the player.
At the time, it was claimed the Rio de Janeiro side turned it down and requested twice as much.
Now it’s time for UOL to back up the chase, as they confirm that West Ham are interested in Lazaro and claims that talks between the clubs are underway.
Meanwhile, journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira writes that despite the Hammers’ initial bid, also claimed to be of £5m, there have been ‘no further advancements’ on that front.
Lazaro has eight goals and seven assists in 41 appearances for Flamengo this season.
Now despite the high number of games, truth is that he’s mostly used in final minutes, as the club have a squad full of stars, and it’s not easy to break through the first team.
Still, the 20-year-old has been showing enough potential to show he deserves playing time, and that’s why the Brazilian club won’t be easy to deal with during the talks with West Ham.
