West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Burnley are in the mix to sign Fluminense’s Jhon Arias in the summer window.
That’s according to journalist Christian Martin, relayed by AS in Colombia, who states the Premier League quartet have joined Atlético Madrid in chasing the 26-year-old.
Martin says several teams from Europe have already asked about the winger and the La Liga side are one of them.
The Colombia international could end up at Atlético for a price between €15m and €17m. Diego Simeone’s side will face competition from West Ham, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Rangers.
The four English clubs are named as interested parties, without providing any updates on who among these sides are currently ahead in the race to sign the South American, or the fee West Ham, Wolves, Crystal Palace or Burnley could offer.
Arias has five goals and two assists from 14 games for the Brazilian club this year. The attacker is set to represent Colombia at the Copa América, where several European clubs are likely to watch him closely.
Martin claims Arias could receive an offer to leave Fluminense for Europe, but he makes no mention of who could send proposals for him.
