On August 2nd, we carried a report from Spanish newspaper AS, who reported West Ham United ‘want to secure the services’ of Real Betis’ Antonio Sanabria, while they also claimed the Hammers will face competition from OGC Nice.

Etsadio Deportivo reports the La Liga outfit are now looking to find a solution for the forward as they want to offload him in the summer transfer window, after completing Sidnei’s transfer.

The report echoes what was mentioned in AS and talks about interest from the Hammers and Nice, but the latter’s general manager, Julien Fournier has ruled out a move for the player.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are willing to pay more than €20m for Sanabria and Estadio Deportivo suggests the above mentioned figure would make Betis ‘study the proposal’. West Ham are also interested in Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez, who is said to be their first choice target.

Sanabria has travelled to England with his current employer, who will play two friendlies against AFC Bournemouth and Cardiff City, but the former AS Roma man is not included in Quique Setién’s plans for the new campaign.
