West Ham United are planning another January attempt to sign striker Youssef En Nesyri from Sevilla.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the Hammers have not been discouraged by their previous failures to sign the Moroccan forward.

West Ham worked hard in last year’s January transfer window to try and get a deal for En Nesyri over the line but were ultimately thwarted by Sevilla, who didn’t want to lose a key player in the middle of the season.

David Moyes and co were then keen on him again come the summer but were this time turned away by the player, who preferred to stay in Spain rather than move to the London Stadium.

The Hammers are now hoping it will be third time lucky, though, with it stated they ‘will return’ come January with another effort to get the striker.

It’s felt they’re missing a ‘top striker’ to help them continue their ‘upward progression’ from last season despite Michail Antonio’s fine start to the season.

That’s an issue they want to address by signing En Nesyri, and they plan to make their move come January, although Sevilla aren’t interested.

They are ‘calm’ despite the interest and the fact the striker would have happily left in the summer if the right offer had arrived.

The club is ‘clear’ that they will not accept any offer for En Nesyri in January as it would see them ‘greatly weakening’ the squad for coach Julen Lopetegui.

West Ham, then, would have to offer something spectacular to change that thinking, with this deal seemingly as hard to pull off as it was the last two times they tried it.
