From the very start, it was quite obvious that West Ham were going to struggle to sign Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri.

The 23-year-old has been an important player to the La Liga side this season, and it was made immediately clear by the local press it would take a huge amount of money to convince Monchi to sell him.

The Hammers are in dire need of a new striker after selling Sébastien Haller to Ajax Amsterdam, but the €30m+ requested by the Spaniards was a big problem.

It was said €35m ‘may secure’ the player, but it appears West Ham are looking to move onto other targets, according to RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi.

Taking to Twitter, he explained that ‘due to the complexity of the affair, West Ham will not make a second offer for now and are exploring other avenues’.

Who that is isn’t said, but there have been suggestions the Hammers could turn their attention to Serie A with Giovanni Simeone an option.
