There’s a claim in the Turkish media that West Ham Untied are showing interest in Galatasaray forward Michy Batshuayi.
The Hammers are in desperate need of a centre forward in this transfer window due to the long-term absences of Niclas Füllkrug and Michail Antonio.
Aksam today report on West Ham’s pursuit for the Belgian and they say the Hammers will this month ‘knock on the door’ to sign the player.
It’s claimed West Ham officials see the 31-year-old centre forward position as being an issue going into the second half of the season, with Danny Ings the only experienced player to call upon at the moment.
The Turkish media outlet say the Premier League side are looking to get a loan deal for Batshuayi, but there is no indication if they want to make this permanent in the summer. Aksam also claim the attacker would be interested in a return to England following his spells with Chelsea and Crystal Palace.
However, with the long-term injury to Mauro Icardi it may be difficult to convince Galatasaray to part ways with the Belgian at this stage of the season.
Batshuayi has made 17 appearances for the Super Lig leaders this season, scoring five goals. He’s contracted to Cimbom until June 2027.
