The season will be over very soon and Premier League clubs will then shift their focus to rebuilding squads for the next campaign.
West Ham United, Watford and Leicester City have turned their attention towards France, if reports are to be believed.
According to L’Equipe, the Hornets, Javi Gracia’s side and the Foxes have ‘closely monitored’ Le Havre midfielder Pape Gueye, who is on the ‘transfer market’.
The 20-year-old made his debut in the 2016/17 season, but only started to have more minutes this term, and has made 10 appearances in the league.
Le Havre are aware of the interest from clubs, including those from France and England.
His contract with his current employer will run out in 2020 and the French club wants to tie down the defensive midfielder to a new deal. It’s claimed the Ligue 2 side will have to ‘work hard to convince’ Gueye to sign an extension.
L’Equipe only claims the English clubs have monitored Gueye and there is no additional information if any of West Ham, Watford or Leicester will make an offer for the teenager.
