At the start of this month, L’Equipe stated West Ham United are one of the clubs to have tested the waters for Paris Saint-Germain’s Carlos Soler.
It was also reported the midfielder is expected to leave the French club and the Premier League is said to be his next destination.
According to El Desmarque, West Ham are set to provide competition to Real Sociedad in the chase for the 27-year-old.
La Real have identified the Spain international as a candidate to replace Mikel Merino, if the latter were to leave them this summer.
The former Newcastle United man has less than a year left on his deal and there’s been repeated claims of Arsenal’s desire to sign him.
The La Liga side have the PSG player on their agenda, while they would have to be wary of the Hammers. It’s claimed Julen Lopetegui’s side ‘want to accelerate’ their efforts to sign the former Valencia man.
PSG, for their part, are looking to offload Soler and would need €20m to part ways with him in this window.
It wouldn’t be an issue for West Ham to meet their request, but the report states they will have to let one of their own midfielders leave before tabling an offer for the Spaniard.
