Gianluca Scamacca could be on his way back to Italy a year after he joined West Ham United from Sassuolo.
Inter Milan are keen to sign the striker and recent claims have stated the deal to take him to the San Siro is ‘very advanced’. His exit would see the Hammers to sign a replacement and this is where Spezia Calcio’s M’Bala Nzola would fit in.
According to Viola News, West Ham ‘aim’ to sign the 26-year-old who managed 15 goals and three assists last season.
David Moyes’ side beat Fiorentina to win the Europa Conference League last season. The two clubs are now set to battle for Nzola’s signature.
It’s stated Fiorentina are preparing to make a €10m bid while Spezia have set a €15m for the Angola international.
The former feels his value has dropped after Spezia were relegated from the Serie A last season. In addition to the difference in valuation, Fiorentina will have to face competition from West Ham, who like Nzola’s profile.
Although the frontman favours a move to Fiorentina, the ‘charm of the Premier League’ and an opportunity to play in the Europa League could favour West Ham.
This is echoed by Calciomercato, who claim the London club have their eyes set on the Spezia player to replace Scamacca.
Fiorentina are in pole position to sign Nzola, who shares an agent with West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna.
Calciomercato state the Hammers have ‘excellent relations’ with the representative. This, coupled with the opportunity to play in the Premier League and the Europa League is ‘stimulating’ the Spezia star, likely to favour a move to West Ham over Fiorentina.
