It seems that West Ham United, fresh from their purchase of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes, are looking to add some more depth to their defence.
The next on their list, if Tutto Atalanta are to be believed, will be Joakim Maehle, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past.
The right-back Denmark international, who signed for the Italian club from KRC Genk in January 2021, has become a target for West Ham, who are the only club ‘that has seriously tried to take an interest’ in the defender.
It’s said the player ‘divides’ those in charge of Atalanta, and while they aren’t explicitly looking for a sale, they would accept the right offer if it came along.
The website claim that West Ham would need to bid ‘at least €18-20m’ to get their man, seen as a price they would ‘certainly free themselves’ of the player for.
The Hammers ‘want to sign’ the Denmark International, but first, they’ll have to make their first bid.
