West Ham United are in the picture to sign Red Bull Salzburg’s Mamady Diambou in the summer window.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who state the Hammers’ interest in the 22-year-old isn’t new as they looked at him last summer.
It isn’t clear whether West Ham made advances and in September, the midfielder signed a new contract until 2028.
The Premier League club have still maintained interest in the midfielder and are keen on acquiring the long-term target’s signature.
In fact, the report states they ‘want to do everything’ they can in the upcoming window to secure his services.
Transfermarkt currently values the Mali international at €3.5m and Africa Foot state West Ham are ready to offer €6m for him.
In order to be successful with their approach to sign him, the London club have started negotiations with Red Bull Salzburg. It’s unclear if the player or the Austrian club are open to doing business with West Ham.
Diambou joined Red Bull Salzburg in January 2021 and two loans spells at FC Liefering and Luzern. He made 34 appearances in all competitions this season.
