Sporx report Fenerbahce have rejected a €12m bid for Josef de Souza from West Ham United.
Souza has been linked with a move to Wolves in the past few weeks and Sporx say West Ham are the latest English top flight club to show an interest in the Brazilian midfielder.
The Turkish website believe Premier League clubs are looking to sign Souza, but any decision on the player’s future can only be made after the club’s presidential elections on Sunday.
According to Sporx Fenerbahce are demanding at least €15m for the 29-year old defensive midfielder, and the Turkish side’s manager Aykut Kocaman wants him to stay.
Subsequently West Ham will need to increase their initial offer by €3m if they want to bring the player to London this summer.
The Hammers will expect to face competition from Premier League new boys Wolves after claims they’ve also table a bid for the South American. Wolves are willing to pay €12m for Souza and like West Ham they’d need to increase this.
Josef has only one year left on his current contract, and his future should become much clearer next week. Last summer saw a series of Turkish transfer claims about the player, with a move to West Brom thought to be close before they signed Grzegorz Krychowiak on loan from PSG instead.
