Over the past few weeks, the Turkish press have talked about West Ham United’s desire to sign Galatasaray’s Wilfried Zaha in the summer window.

The Hammers continue to be named as a contender and Fotomaç now provides the latest on this case.

Zaha left Crystal Palace as a free agent and joined the Turkish club on a free transfer last summer.

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk mainly used him as a substitute this year. This hasn’t pleased Zaha, who has set his sights on returning to England, where West Ham are the ‘most serious buyer’.

West Ham are said to have conveyed to Galatasaray their desire to buy the Ivory Coast international, and done so via the player’s agent. Zaha’s deal lasts until 2026, and his club are willing to let him go, partly to save on wages.

Fotospor also state Galatasaray are open to parting ways with Zaha, and they have set a €10m asking price.

Zaha’s agent, who is ‘mediating’ discussions between West Ham and Galatasaray, asked the latter whether they are open to negotiating the price.

If they are willing, the report says West Ham will send an official to Istanbul to hold talks with Zaha’s employer ‘this week’.
