Sead Haksabanovic left Swedish club Halmstads BK and signed a a five-year deal with West Ham United in 2017.
Last season, the winger made two appearances in cup competitions, while he failed to appear in any of the league fixtures.
Manuel Pellegrini, who took charge of the Hammers before the start of the season, allowed the 19-year-old to join Segunda Division side Malaga on a loan deal.
The idea of a season-long loan transfer was to make sure the wideman got regular minutes with the Spanish club, but that didn’t happen as he’s made only two appearances in the league.
Local newspaper Malaga Hoy now claims the Albicelestes are set to end his stay today as they plan cut end his loan deal ‘earlier than expected’.
Haksabanovic will return to the his parent club, but it’s not clear where he will be playing during the second half of the season.
West Ham want to find him a club where he will get regular minutes and fotbolldirekt.se reported on January 8th that Swedish side AIK have identified Haksabanovic as a target, although that move is thought to be dead.
