West Ham United are reportedly keeping an eye on 24 year old Bologna striker Simone Verdi.
According to claims from Tutto Mercato Web on Monday, the Hammers have sent scouts to Italy to watch the player closely.
Emissaries were present at Bologna’s 4-1 win over Chievo Verona in the Italian league last Sunday. That was a pretty good game for them to watch, as Verdi managed to score a goal and make an assist.
The player arrived at Bologna last summer, having signed from Milan in a €1.5m deal. In 22 appearances for the club so far, he’s scored five goals.
Verdi didn’t get many chances at the Rossoneri, and he was loaned out twice during his time at the Serie A side.
It’s not mentioned how much Bologna would demand from west Ham for the striker. But considering he’s just arrived at the club and has a contract until 2020, the amount would be many times bigger than what they paid last summer.
Another Italian striker at West Ham called Simone? It doesn’t bear thinking about.
