With two goals and three assists in five games so far, things appear to be going well for Sebastien Haller at Ajax following his move from West Ham earlier this month.

The Hammers decision to sell the Ivorian shocked many in this window, with the deal to send him to the Eredivisie very much coming out of the blue.

That move ended a disappointing spell at the London Stadium for Haller, who had arrived at West Ham as their record signing but managed just 14 goals and three assists in 53 games before his departure.

He is looking to get his career back on track with Ajax, and show the kind of form he managed at Eintracht Frankfurt and subsequently earned his big money to West Ham from.

While the deal appears to be a good one for Ajax, we’ve already covered how the striker is receiving criticism despite being five games into his Ajax career.

Earlier today we had analysis of his fitness, and now it’s former international Johnny Rep’s turn, with him less than impressed by what he’s seen.

“I think he is a bit expensive. He has already scored a few goals and given assists, but I don’t think he’s such a world footballer either,” Soccer News report him saying.

“He fits in that vanguard, I think, because there are all those little men running there.

“Then it is nice if there is also a tree of a guy in between who can sometimes head in a ball.”
