Felipe Anderson’s agent, his sister Juliana Gomes, has denied the West Ham man is set for a return to Brazil.
The forward is currently on loan at Portuguese side Porto, having been shipped out by West Ham when it was made clear he was not a part of David Moyes’ plans.
Things have not been going well for him in Portugal, though, with him managing just seven appearances and 320 minutes of football so far.
It had been claimed that Gomes was set to meet with the club to discuss the matter, amid rumours that he could end the loan spell early and return to West Ham in January.
Indeed there have also been claims that he could return to Brazil to former club Santos, two claims that his agent has now moved to dismiss.
“My meeting with FC Porto took place exactly a fortnight ago,” she told Record.
“It was not carried out to put any kind of pressure on the management or the coach for Felipe to play, as some people misinterpreted.
“Nothing is being discussed regarding Felipe Anderson’s future at the moment.
“He is an FC Porto player and is totally focused on his work at the club, training daily with full dedication to make his adaptation as short as possible.
“Anything that is said other than that is just speculation and should be treated as such.”
Anderson, then, it seems will be staying in Portugal for the foreseeable future if his agent is to be believed.
If he is to stay he will have to impress manager Sérgio Conceição, who it seems is very much considering him a part of his plans.
“I don’t like to individualize, you already know me, but Felipe Anderson has been working well, very well,” O Jogo report him saying today.
“In training, absolutely nothing to say, these two weeks were important for these players.
“Now it depends on him, on ability to put what I want in training so that later it can be visible in the game.
“I count on him, of course, I do.”
