Sofiane Feghouli’s potential loan from West Ham to AS Roma is getting a lot of coverage in Italy, and the stories keep stacking on top of each other.

Earlier on Monday, we covered an article in Il Tempo claiming the Algeria international has already told West Ham he intends to accept the Serie A side’s offer, with only the two clubs needing to reach an agreement for the transfer to go through.

That, however, could be a problem, if Il Messaggero’s report of the events on Monday are to be believed.

The Italian newspaper claim the Feghouli option ‘is becoming complicated’, mostly because West Ham have rejected the first offer of a loan with a view to buy, and the London club now want some money up front for the loan deal.

Having wasted £5m on Simone Zaza’s loan, it’s no surprise the club would want to make some money back in January, but Roma aren’t ready to do that, having already agreed to take on the entirety of the player’s wages for the next six months.

The Hammers are said to be asking for €2-3m for the loan, and talks are set to continue on Monday and on Tuesday in hope another agreement can be reached.
