Saïd Benrahma’s transfer from West Ham United to Lyon may not be done yet, but it shouldn’t take long until it’s all confirmed.
On Twitter, RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins explains there’s ‘no total agreement’ between the Ligue 1 side and the player yet, and that’s why he’s still in England.
However, with West Ham and Lyon having agreed a deal on Tuesday, it’s said that the transfer is expected to go through and Benrahma should complete the move before Thursday evening.
On RMC’s website, there are a few more details about the transfer. They claim that unless ‘the situation changes’, the signing should be completed with a loan and an option to buy.
Lyon are paying West Ham €5m to have Benrahma until the end of the season, and should then spend another €10m to get him permanently. Now it’s all up to the agreement between club and player.
The West Ham forward is joining the French side knowing that he was not their priority, as the number one target had always been to take Arnaut Danjuma from Everton.
