West Ham United have become the latest club to enter the mix for Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi.
Tutto Atalanta explain that in the ‘last few hours’, the Hammers have been ‘thinking about’ the attacking midfielder.
Last week, Gian Piero Gasperini admitted the Serie A side need to replace the 29-year-old in this window. This was before he scored in his side’s 1-1 draw against AC Milan at the weekend.
The Ukraine international’s situation at the club has changed since then. Atalanta ‘raises the bar’ as they demand €30-35m plus bonuses to part ways with him, either through a sale or loan with an obligation to buy.
Tottenham Hotspur, who showed interested in him, are not willing to meet the demands set by the Italian club. West Ham are thinking about the player and have ‘decent liquidity’ to carry out his signing.
The possibility of this deal taking shape looks slim since Tutto Atalanta state Malinovskyi’s chances of staying at the club are increasing.
David Moyes’ side may look at Malinovskyi as an alternative, if a deal for Club Brugge star Hans Vanaken doesn’t work out. Earlier today, reports from Belgium said West Ham have made a new bid, which was not accepted by the Belgian champions.
