Over the past season or so, the idea that West Ham United could make a move fo Antonin Barak has appeared in the Italian media.
The fact he is a Czech Republic international helps, since the Hammers have favoured those of late on the transfer market, as does his relatively affordable price.
He has excelled for Hellas Verona in Serie A over the past two seasons, scoring 17 goals and assisting another eight in 62 appearances from midfield, an area that could do with some work at West Ham going forward.
Corriere di Verona have an article on his future on Thursday, and make it clear the ‘blond angel’ is ‘followed by English and German clubs’, as well as Napoli and Atalanta.
The West Ham target has also ‘expressed his ambition to prove himself in a team competing for the top positions, participating in the Champions League’.
That could be a setback for the Hammers, although they might have the advantage of being able to offer him an environment where he would find some of his international teammates waiting for him in Tomas Soucek, Alex Kral and Vladimir Coufal.
As for his price, Corriere di Verona state ‘his price tag is estimated at no less than €20m’, while ‘it can reach €25m’.
