Flamengo want to sign Gabriel Barbosa on a permanent transfer after the Inter Milan owned forward impressed on loan during the last calendar year.
On December 17th, FcInterNews reported the ‘sirens’ of West Ham United was cited as one of the reasons behind the player’s hesitation to say yes to the South American side.
These claims were made when Manuel Pellegrini was in charge at the London club. On December 28th, the Hammers showed the exit door to the Chilean and replaced him with David Moyes.
According to FcInterNews, the English side are ‘strong on’ the player and the London club’s new manager has given his approval to make an approach for Gabigol.
It’s claimed the return to Europe and playing in the Premier League ‘teases’ Gabigol in an ‘important way’.
West Ham can offer €20m plus bonuses and this could force Flamengo to relaunch their approach for the attacker. The latter are currently offering €18m plus 20 percent from a future sale.
Inter would be hoping for a bidding war in order to earn more from Gabigol’s sale in January.
