Two days ago, RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi reported Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma was ‘very close’ to joining West Ham United after both clubs reached an agreement of ‘around €30m’.

Tanzi also stated the centre-back was ‘very close’ to finding an agreement with the Hammers for a five-year deal.

Téléfoot journalist Julien Maynard reported on Wednesday evening there’s a ‘twist’ in the Zouma case.

Although the France international’s medical with the Hammers was scheduled, David Moyes’ side and the Blues have ‘decided to cancel the deal’.

Hours later, Maynard again took to Twitter to explain the drama around the centre-back’s future ‘may not be finished’.

With the Champions League winners working to sign Sevilla star Jules Koundé, Maynard says West Ham are ‘still hoping to find a solution’ for the 26-year-old.

He adds ‘negotiations resumed’ yesterday, most likely between the two clubs, and Zouma’s medical examinations with the Hammers, that was initially scheduled in Paris today, ‘has not yet been cancelled’.

There’s still hope for West Ham to sign Zouma.
