West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals had admitted he never imagined things would go so well at the club.
The Hammers are currently flying high in the Premier League, sitting third in the table and just a point behind leaders Chelsea.
They’re also level with Manchester City in second, having matched their record so far and even scored one more goal than them to boot.
A win over Liverpool on Sunday was their latest impressive result, with things also going well in the cups and the Europa League.
It’s the best situation West Ham have found themselves in some time, and Fornals admits he can barely believe it.
“You can’t imagine it,” he told La Razon.
“It’s something you always dream about because any player you ask will tell you that he wants to play with the best, compete with the best, play in the Champions League, come to the national team.
“These are dreams that little by little are getting closer to becoming a reality.”
It’s his second spell at West Ham after he led them to safety in a seven-month spell from November 2017 to the following summer.
When he arrived, they were 17th in the table and just a point above the relegation zone, but he’s overseen a mass change at the club, with those fears now a distant memory.
He’s even managed to make the much-maligned London Stadium something of a fortress, and Fornals admits he is the centre-piece to the improvement.
“(Last year) was difficult, it was not a good time for the club either, so long without playing and then back without an audience, change of coach, but since the arrival of David Moyes, the club has made a 180-degree turnaround, and you can see it reflected now,” he added.
“He has taken a group of fairly young lads, also with that bit of maturity and wisdom of other older players, and he has convinced them that by going to the death every game, competing like this and understanding football in this way, you can achieve very good things.”
