As Sevilla started the week with training ahead of the Europa League clash against West Ham United, there’s a big concern about those who could miss that game.
As written today by Diario de Sevilla, manager Julen Lopetegui coordinated the session with ‘few players due to injury’, and focused on the figures he’ll have available for Thursday’s match against David Moyes’ side.
Sevilla missed eight players for the weekend’s clash against Alavés, all with physical issues. Now for the game against West Ham, besides that list of footballers who may recover or not, there’s also the suspension of Thomas Delaney, who was sent off in their game against Dinamo Zagreb.
The only situation Diario de Sevilla actually know something about is regarding Erik Lamela, who was back on training with the squad following a shoulder injury, but is still not one hundred percent. Meanwhile, Suso continues to be treated as part of his recovery from an ankle surgery.
The other six players who missed the weekend’s game are Gonzalo Montiel, Diego Carlos, Karim Erkik, Fernando, Papu Gomez and Anthony Martial. They all travelled out of the city to revaluate their physical issues, and it’s still not clear whether they could recover in time.
Sevilla and West Ham play on Thursday, in Spain, in the first leg of Europa League’s round-of-16.
