Milliyet’s Besiktas journalist Serdar Saridag claims West Ham United officials are ready to travel back to Istanbul to hold further talks with Besiktas for Gary Medel.
The Chilean midfielder has been linked with a move to the Hammers in the past week, with reports the Premier League side have offered €7m to Besiktas to sign the 31 year old. It was also claimed West Ham travelled to Turkey to hold initial talks with the Super Lig club.
Saridag say the Besiktas board are planning to offload some players in the January transfer window to raise funds and Medel could be one of them.
The former Cardiff City player wasn’t at his best during his sides’ recent 4-1 defeat against Kasimpasa and some pundits say he’s not performing because he’s looking for a move away from the Istanbul club.
Medel has made 25 appearances for Besiktas in all competitions this season and is under contract at the Vodafone Arena until June 2020.
