According to a multitude of claims coming out of Italy, West Ham United and AC Milan have come to an outline agreement for the transfer of Carlos Bacca.
The figures change slightly between reports, but the headline amount is said to be around €30m, with the vast majority made up by a straight transfer fee, and a little through bonuses relating to the success of a move.
However, West Ham’s summer long search for a striker isn’t over, because Bacca is being indecisive. It’s been claimed repeatedly that the player would prefer a move to Spain and Atletico Madrid have been continuously linked.
Diego Simeone wants a new striker, and his first choice of Diego Costa is considered too important by Chelsea to sell, at this stage anyway.
Calciomercato say Bacca’s entourage have asked for €4.5m a year in salary, probably after tax, but West Ham have so far only offered €3.5m.
The Hammers are impatient and when Bacca asked for time to think things through, Calciomercato say he was given a strict deadline of Friday.
We’re pretty sure there’s every chance it could rumble on longer if need be.
