Earlier on Monday, French outlet Foot Mercato reported West Ham United’s interest in Paris Saint Germain defender Thilo Kehrer.

The 25-year-old was said to be one of the targets the Hammers have for the final weeks of the transfer window, and with the French side being open to negotiate his exit, there are chances they could work on a deal.

It turns out an update now arrives from Germany, where Sky journalist Floreian Plettenberg backs up those claims. He says West Ham are ‘seriously considering’ Kehrer’s signing.

According to the report, there have already been talks for the move, but the negotiations are ‘not easy’ due to the big demands made by PSG, who request around €20m for the transfer.

On the defender’s point of view, Plettenberg claims West Ham are an ‘interesting’ destination for him, even though there’s no personal agreement between player and club so far.

Even though Kehrer can also play as a right-back or a defensive midfielder, the story makes it clear that David Moyes’ idea is to have him as a centre-back.
