According to TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy, West Ham are keeping an eye on the Serie A, with a midfielder and a left-back allegedly on their shortlist.

Playing some midweek games, the Italian league set up an interesting battle on Tuesday night between Bologna and Inter, which the Hammers took a keen interest in.

The London club sent a scout to Stadio Dall’Ara to watch the game, and the Italian website believe the two targets were Adam Masina and Simone Verdi.

The first of the two is a 23-year-old left-back, who has established himself as the starter in the position, after breaking into the first-team three years ago, and reached his 100th game for Bologna last night.

With Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku already at the club, this could just be the club looking at a future prospect, just in case someone comes knocking on their door for either defender.

As for Simone Verdi, the 25-year-old forward was the man of the match against Inter, scoring his team’s goal in a 1-1 draw in a close fought game with stunning effort from outside the box.

The West Ham scout will undoubtedly have been impressed with what he saw, and it’s worth keeping an eye on whether or not scouting Bologna becomes a regular thing.
