Long thought to be going to Napoli, Roberto Pereyra’s transfer to the south of Italy seems to be off the cards for now.
The reason behind this might have something to do with Napoli’s reluctance to deal with Juventus again after the whole Gonzalo Higuain saga, although this hasn’t been made clear by the Italian press.
What has been made clear by Corriere dello Sport on Monday, however, is that West Ham have come back into the fray for the Argentinean midfielder, who seems to be surplus to requirements to Max Allegri’s plans.
The Italian newspaper says that Juventus have noticed a ‘revival’ in the Hammers’ interest for Pereyra recently, with the original claims dating back to more than a month ago.
Watford were also keen on the midfielder, but their business seems to have taken them to Portugal instead, leaving the Premier League path option solely to West Ham.
There’s no saying whether or not this will flourish into a bid anytime soon, as it’s just a vague mention at the end of an article, but we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t let you know about it.
Just don’t get too excited just yet.
