It appears we’ve had a little bit of confusion along the way with a report that West Ham are interested in Anthony Lozano from Cadiz CF.
We first noticed the story in AS, who quoted Diario De Cádiz as the source claiming David Moyes’ side were prepared to bid €15m for the Honduran striker, who has three goals to his name this season.
After a little digging, it appeared there was nothing on their website regarding the matter nor in their newspaper dating back to the beginning of the week.
However, we came across this from Noticias Cadistas, who appear to be the ones claiming Cádiz were about to receive the offer ‘for their first bid transfer in their history for a footballer of their team’.
It’s stated the La Liga side should be handed a bid of €15m ‘in the next few hours’, although they would immediately point to his release clause, ‘for now…’
How much that is isn’t stated, but our guess is it’s above €15m, and there’s also mention of English newspapers pushing the interest.
What Diario de Cádiz did say was that the phones were ringing for Lozano and other members of the squad, but a big article in their newspaper made it clear the club ‘will not transfer its important players in January’.
So it all depends on who you want to believe, but the general consensus from a newspaper close to the club is that Lozano isn’t going to West Ham or anywhere else in January.
