West Ham United are back being named as one of the main contenders to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.
It was a couple of weeks ago that the Italian media claimed the Hammers are ‘above all’ in the list of pretenders for the signing, even though the €45m price tag was been claimed to be too much.
Now it’s Sky Italia (via Tutto Mercato Web) who feature a story about Paris Saint Germain’s interest, pointing out that the French side would need to compete against West Ham for the signing.
They claim that the Hammers are ‘ready to send a substantial offer’ to Sassuolo, even though it isn’t yet mentioned how much they’d want to put on the table.
The story says the Serie A club ‘continue to ask’ for between €45m and €50m to let the player go, so West Ham better be convinced of making a big investment in the striker.
Claiming the ‘stalemate with PSG can favour the English’, Tutto Mercato Web makes it sound like the Hammers are closer to landing the centre-forward.
