Greek newspaper SportDay report, as covered by Sdna, that West Ham United are set to make a move for Olympiacos goalkeeper Jose Sa.
The former Porto goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from the club, and along with the Hammers, Real Betis, Atletico Madrid, Crystal Palace and Southampton have all been linked with a move for the 27 year old.
It’s reported West Ham are preparing an offer for the Portuguese goalkeeper, who has impressed with his performances with Erythrolefki this season, especially in Europe.
Regarding Betis and Atletico Madrid interest, SportDay say Atletico see him as a possible backup to Jan Oblak, which wouldn’t be so interesting to Sa, whilst Betis are unlikely to pay his release clause, which is set at €13m.
West Ham have had their issues with goalkeepers this season with their first choice Lukasz Fabianski ruled out with injury for most of the campaign.
His deputy Roberto failed to impress with his performances, resulting in David Martin taking his place. For these reasons, David Moyes could look to bring in Sa.
Sa’s contract with Olympiacos will expire at the end of June 2023.
