Armando Broja has given Chelsea an ‘ultimatum’ to sort out his future this week amid interest from Everton and West Ham.
That’s according to Ola, who carry an exclusive on the striker’s future today as the interest in him ramps up.
Broja spent last season on loan at Southampton, establishing himself as a key player under Ralph Hassehuttl and managing nine goals and one assist in 38 games in all competitions.
That deal expired at the end of the campaign, and he’s since returned to Chelsea, where he appeared set to be part of their pre-season plans before the club decided on his future.
That’s led Broja’s representatives to speak to those in charge at Stamford Bridge, and they have ‘made it clear’ that he must be part of the team in pre-season or he will leave the club.
Chelsea responded that Tuchel ‘appreciates’ Broja but does not believe it would be ‘reasonable’ to take him to the USA as he can ‘prepare better’ by staying in London.
This does not convince the Albanian as he believes it would leave him with little opportunity to show himself to Tuchel and thus get a chance next season.
He, therefore, has ‘imposed an ultimatum’ on the club to give him a ‘final answer’ about their plans by the end of this week. If he is not going to be a part of their pre-season plans, he will leave Stamford Bridge.
He knows he has ‘numerous worshippers’ in the Premier League, with West Ham ‘ready to financially satisfy’ Chelsea’s demands. That move would appeal to Broja as he would be able to stay in London, where he grew up.
But Everton have also ‘entered the race’ for the striker’s signature, with Frank Lampard keen to strengthen after losing Richarlison.
It all depends on Chelsea, though, with Broja demanding a decision from them this week as Everton and West Ham wait in the wings.
