West Ham United have held ‘concrete contacts’ with Udinese forward Gerard Deulofeu and are ‘ready’ to bring him back to the Premier League this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Spaniard’s good performances this season have put him on the Hammers’ radar.
Deulofeu has been with Udinese since October 2020, initially joining the Serie A side on loan but making the move a permanent one the following January.
He’s been a big hit with the club, scoring nine goals and adding four assists in 38 games so far and establishing himself as a firm fan favourite since his arrival.
This season alone has seen him score seven and register two of those assists, meaning he is only three goals away from his best goalscoring season in a senior team.
That’s apparently earned him the interest of West Ham, who have already held ‘concrete contacts’ with the Spaniard over a move this summer.
CM say that they are ‘ready’ to bring him back to the Premier League for a third spell in the country after periods with Everton and Watford previously.
There is no mention of what they would be willing to pay for the Spaniard, whether Udinese would sanction a sale or even if Deulofeu is interested in joining David Moyes side.
All we know so far is that West Ham have been in contact and would be interested in bringing him back for another shot at life in the Premier League.
