The Marlon rumours from Spain are clearly not all hot air.

Barcelona loaned the player to Nice last summer for two years and it’s now been officially announced he’s returning to the Spanish club early.

Marlon is being brought back so Barcelona can sell him, and Mundo Deportivo once again report West Ham are the best placed club to complete a deal this summer.

West Ham are said to be negotiating with both Barcelona and the player, and with the latter it sounds like things are done.

Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo say the Hammers have found an ‘agreement in principle’ with the defender. That will be related to wages, so now it’s down to transfer fee.

The figures coming out of the Catalan media continue to change, and on Thursday it’s stated West Ham are offering €15-18m ‘between fixed and variable’ payments.

Everyone involved is calm about the situation, according to the claims, and if a move to West Ham breaks down, and nobody else comes in for the Brazilian, then he’ll start preseason training with Barcelona.
