West Ham United have reached an agreement with Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet over a move to the London Stadium this summer.
That’s according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who says the Ivory Coast international ‘will leave Burnley’.
According to his information, Cornet is ‘expected to join the Hammers’ but there are still some details to be worked out between them and Burnley.
There is seemingly a confidence that those differences can be sorted quickly, though, as he also states that if all goes well, Cornet will be in London today for a medical with West Ham.
That would suggest negotiations with Burnley are at an advanced stage, if there were any at all given Cornet has a well-publicised released clause in his current contract.
Whether West Ham have matched that or done a deal with the Clarets isn’t made clear, just that there is an agreement in place with the player.
Final details of that are sure to emerge in the coming hours, with Cornet due to undergo a medical today if things go to plan.
