Since January, there have been sporadic links sending Montpellier’s Ryad Boudebouz to the England somewhere, whether it be to newly promoted Newcastle or now West Ham.
The attacking midfielder enjoyed a very impressive season with the Ligue 1 outfit last season, picking up 11 goals and nine assists in 33 league appearances, and has made it clear he wants to try something new, preferably in another league.
The news comes from this week’s edition of France Football, who say the Hammers, as well as Sevilla in Spain and Besiktas in Turkey, are taking an interest in the Algeria international.
While the Ligue 1 side can be excused for wanting to get as much money for their star player as possible, things might be different in a few weeks time.
Boudebouz has been granted permission to leave this summer, and even if he hasn’t exactly pushed for a transfer all that much yet, if he feels his club’s demands are stopping him from getting the move he wants, he might end up knocking on a door or two within the organisation to see if anything can be done about it.
Patience is key, and West Ham might benefit from waiting a little bit longer, as Slaven Bilic searches across Europe for players capable of improving results for the London Stadium faithful.
