West Ham United earned themselves a good point away to Liverpool on Sunday, but still remain just one point above the relegation zone. Darren Randolph’s mistake allowed Liverpool to equalise, and the goalkeeper was devastated after the match.

However, Randolph’s performance was still superior to Liverpool’s Loris Karius, who looks increasingly fragile for them between the sticks.

Before the match, Angelo Ogbonna had been speaking to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. Ogbonna made his name at Torino before moving on to Juventus, so ahead of the Turin derby he was a natural choice for a few words on the matter.

Of course, things turned to West Ham and Gazzetta asked if the London club are more like Juve or Torino: “I see it very close to the Toro: for fans, history and mentality. In England I like the culture to go to the stadium with kids, it would be nice if it were like that in Italy.”

On the club’s woes this season under Slaven Bilic, Ogbonna explained that things need to get back to basics: “We started on the wrong foot and we find ourselves in trouble. We need to rediscover the pride and humility.”

The draw at Anfield is a good place to start.
