West Ham United completed the signing of Felipe Anderson from Lazio for a club-record fee on Monday.
Former Hammers manager Slaven Bilic signed Marko Arnautovic from Stoke City last summer, and it’s claimed the arrival of the Brazilian could force the forward to move.
Italian outlet Leggo Sport claims the Austrian international’s agent was spotted in Rome and Milan, which has seen the player being linked with a move to AS Roma.
The report mentions Arnautovic is a ‘typical left wing’ player whose transfer can be completed for ‘less than €20m’ this summer.
Roma’s director of football Monchi has already turned down the opportunity to sign the West Ham attacker. The Spaniard does not seem to be interested in signing the 29-year-old for the Italian capital club.
The report also mentions Arnautovic’s ‘character seems to have blunted’ over the years.
Whilst there always seems at least a little doubt around Arnautovic, as there was at Stoke, the figure being mentioned is frankly laughable. On top of that, he hasn’t been a ‘typical left wing’ player.
There feels like opportunistic claims, but if the West Ham player’s agent is doing a tour of Italy then rumours are inevitable.
