Valencia already played for Pachuca, but only for a short period of six months. His 18 goals in 23 games for the Mexican saw him quickly sold to the Hammers in a €15m deal in 2014.
Now on loan at Everton after falling out of Slaven Bilic’s plans, the player isn’t getting all the game time he expected, and that’s one of the reasons why Pachuca believe the signing is possible.
It’s claimed the player needs some prominence for the World Cup qualifiers, and playing the World Cup of Clubs would also be a factor to attract him.
But would Valencia really change Europe for Mexico for a few international fixtures and a short mid-season tournament? It’s hard to believe so.
West Ham should probably wait for the telephone to ring, though.
