Amid all the speculation sending André Ayew back to Swansea, it appears the Ghana international has other plans on his agenda.

The West Ham forward has been the subject of interest from his former club recently, with the Welsh side seeing their first bid rejected on Sunday, but Ghana Guardian believe he wants to leave England altogether.

According to the local newspaper, André Ayew is said to be open to a return to Marseille, the club where he initially made a name for himself across Europe, and has ‘his heart set on a move to Ligue 1”.

Having seen the likes of Steve Mandanda and Dimitri Payet transfer back to the south of France and prosper, with the Ligue 1 side currently in a Champions League spot, ahead of Monaco, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if the West Ham forward felt he could do something similar.

Despite making 24 appearances this season already with West Ham, scoring six goals and picking up two assists, Ghana Guardian state David Moyes has given the green light for the Ghana international to leave in January if the Hammers’ expectations of £20m are met.
