While no one expected West Ham to keep Jonathan Calleri beyond this season, we’re sure some of the fans will want to know what’s next for the Argentinean forward.

Let’s take you back to January, when his time at the London Stadium hadn’t really kicked off, and Las Palmas were very keen on signing him.

Everyone in the local press was talking about it, and it looked like something could happen.

In the end, it didn’t, and Calleri stayed at West Ham, even scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win over Middlesbrough in January.

However, with his loan deal coming to an end on Friday, we thought we’d give you one last update on him, and it appears that he could get his move to Las Palmas after all.

According to Marca, the La Liga side are on the verge of signing both him and Hernán Toledo from Deportivo Maldonado on a one-year loan from the Uruguayan side.

Only a few details in their contracts stand in the way of the move, and both players are just waiting for the phone call so that they can jump on the plane to Las Palmas and complete the move.

Let’s hope his time in Spain is more fruitful than his sojourn in London.
