Fotospor have reported on the latest developments with regards to Besiktas’ search for a forward ahead of the January transfer window.

Besiktas board member Ahmet Kavalci spoke after last weekend’s game against Galatasaray, saying the club are working hard to sign new players. Fotospor claim one of the options for Besiktas remains West Ham United forward Javier Hernandez after being previously linked with the Hammers player.

However, the Turkish website believe that after Hernandez’s display against Newcastle United on Saturday, West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini could keep the Mexican in his ranks at least until the end of the season.

The 30-year old scored two goals during his side’s 3-0 away win at St James’ Park and Fotospor say his performance could force Pellegrini to rethink his stance on the player.

Hernandez has been closely linked with a move to Besiktas in the Turkish press and we covered reports last month the Istanbul club have made a €1m loan offer to West Ham.

The Black Eagles have been also linked with a move for Norwich City’s Nelson Oliveira in recent weeks.
