According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are still in the hunt to sign West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal.
The Czech Republic international has been linked with a move to the Turkish champions as they look to bring in a right back this summer.
Haber Sarikirmizi have reported on comments made by Turkish journalist Mehmet Özcan with regards to Galatasaray’s pursuit of the West Ham player. Özcan said Coufal is clearly on the agenda of the Super Lig side and that they’ve sent officials to watch him at Euro 2024.
“When I said Wan-Bissaka and Assignon, I learned a different name from England. West Ham’s Vladimir Coufal. They also watched him against Turkey in the Czechia match. He’s a 31-year-old player. “He went to the Premier League in 2020 and there’s a certain standard of matching. We know the physicality of the Czech players. He is clearly on the agenda of Galatasaray,” said Özcan.
With Serge Aurier set to leave the Istanbul club in the coming days they’ve made it one their priorities to sign a right back in this transfer window.
Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka has reportedly been their prime target to replace Aurier, but they’ve yet to get an agreement with Manchester United over the transfer fee.
Couful made 46 appearances for the east London side last season. He’s contracted to the Hammers until June 2025.
