Despite being 37 years of age, Lukasz Fabianski continues to be the number one at West Ham United these days.

He has started all 12 games in the Premier League to date, conceding 10 goals and keeping four clean sheets, and he then hands over the gloves to Alphonse Aréola for the Conference League games.

Whether that continues in the long-term remains to be seen, as the Polish goalkeeper only has a contract with West Ham until the end of the season, even if there is an option for a further year in his deal.

That decision will be one that needs to be taken, and if he does stay an extra season, that will mark his 15th year in England after arriving at Arsenal from Legia Warszawa in 2007.

He stayed there for seven years before moving to Swansea for four years, arriving at West Ham in 2018, where he has been the starter ever since.

In that time, he has witnessed a lot of changes, especially in training, which he spoke about with Viaplay, relayed by Sport.pl.

He said: “The goalkeeper training has changed a lot, especially in terms of trying to introduce match situations. Now, there is a lot of training related to the elements of cooperation with players. There is also a lot of training related to playing with your feet, which has been talked about for a long time. Training in this respect has changed a lot.

“Such individual elements are definitely a big change. This is no longer the kind of training where you typically go to the side by yourself. This is not the case anymore. Now training is more detailed.”
