On Wednesday, we covered claims from Italy which stated West Ham United and Filip Kostic’s camp had come to an agreement to end negotiations for a transfer.

Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has things differently, and have the Eintracht Frankfurt player on their front page.

According to their report, West Ham are still in talks for the signing, and plan to complete a deal ‘by the weekend’, however, the player and his representatives have become ‘distracted’ by Juventus interest.

This fits in with earlier reports which stated Kostic was holding West Ham off because there was a more tempting club moving forward for him.

Gazzetta say the Turin side are set to raise their offer to compete with the Hammers, and will put forward a deal worth €12m plus bonuses to the Bundesliga side. Frankfurt continue talking with David Moyes’ side, who are said to have offered €15m plus bonuses, which would clearly be preferable.

Juventus initially wanted to offer just €8m, and it’s the West Ham offer which is making them go higher.

This situation feels like one where the player has a distinct desire, that being a move to Juventus, and the Premier League side are being used by Frankfurt to push the figures higher.
