When the January transfer window was open, several reports from the Portuguese media made it look like Felipe Anderson would be sent back to West Ham United.

The midfielder was marked by a couple of bad performances for Porto at the start of the season, and wasn’t even being taken to games by manager Sérgio Conceição at the end of the year.

However, things had a big turnaround during the window, when Felipe Anderson started getting more chances and finally showed some hope for the Dragons.

That’s why his exit ended up being ruled out, and now the difference in his attitude is being highlighted by the local media.

Following Porto’s 0-0 draw against Belenenses last night, outlet Tribuna Expresso brought their comments on each player, and writer Catarina Pereira seemed impressed with the Brazilian’s improvement.

“Every time I see Felipe Anderson running, every time I see Felipe Anderson challenging for a ball, I find myself thinking that training every day with Sérgio Conceição really works miracles. Mister, when I have time, I will need that motivation, please.”

That’s certainly good news for West Ham, who could perhaps receive a revitalised Felipe Anderson at the end of the season. However, as his contract with the club expires in 2022, this is a crucial time to make a decision regarding his future.
