West Ham United were represented at the Estádio do Dragão yesterday. As reported by Portuguese newspaper Record, the club had emissaries watching Porto’s 3-0 win over Moreirense.

The scouts will have certainly been impressed with Vincent Aboubakar’s performance, since the striker managed to score a hat-trick, and was obviously Man of the Match.

But there was also another player who did well: Danilo Pereira.

The exact same one who was recently linked to West Ham.

Earlier this month, the Portuguese press said he was an alternative in case the London side miss out on signing William Carvalho from Sporting.

Danilo has been excelling at Porto for a couple of years now. Against Moreirense, he bossed the midfield once again, and has been developing attacking skills instead of only defending, which was his original ability.

But the player has a great value for the club and is unlikely to leave for much less than his €60m release clause.

When Danilo was reported to be back-up to Carvalho for West Ham, it was quickly pointed out in Portugal that he’d probably cost even more.

Still, he’s certain to have impressed the West Ham officials.
